Saying goodbye to Vancouver

Leaving Vancouver was bittersweet. After 19 years for me and a lifetime for Mark, it was not easy to say goodbye to the mountains, the ocean, and all our friends and family. We spent our last few weeks revisiting our favorite spots and restaurants. So many incredible memories were made here.

Packing up our lives felt like a monumental task! Boxes filled every room as we sorted through belongings, deciding what to take and what to leave behind. Despite the chaos, there was an underlying excitement for the adventure ahead.

Dire au revoir à Vancouver

Quitter Vancouver a été doux-amer. Apres 19 ans pour moi et tout une vie pour mark, ça na pas été facile de dire au revoir aux montagnes, à l’océan, et à tous nos amis et notre famille. Nous avons passé nos dernières semaines a revisiter nos endroits et restaurants préférés. Tant de souvenirs incroyables ont été créés ici.

Faire nos valises a semblance etre une tache monumentale! Des boites remplissaient chaque pièce pendant que nous triions nos affaires, décidant quoi emporter et quoi laisser derrière nous. Malgré le chaos, une excitation profonde grandissait face a l’aventure qui nous attendait.

Highlight: Farewell dinner with Mark’s parents / Souper de depart avec les parents à Mark

Our last night in Vancouver was spent with our Mark’s parents at Social Corner. We knew we’d miss them dearly, but also knew this wasn’t a final goodbye.On as passe notre dernière soirée à Vancouver avec les parents à Mark au restaurant Social Corner. On sait qu’on va s’ennuyer d’eux mais on sait que ce n’est pas un aurevoir final.

The journey begins…

The journey to Tallinn was long, involving 2 flights and 1 layover. We flew from Vancouver to Frankfurt, then to finally to Tallinn. The Frankfurt airport was a zoo, long lines, no AC in the airport and we had to take a few buses to get to our final flight.

L’aventure commence…

Le voyage était long pour se rendre a Tallinn. On a pris 2 vols avec une escale à l’aéroport de Frankfurt en Allemagne. L’aéroport de Frankfurt etait un zoo, longue file d’attente, pas d’air climatise dans l’aeroport et il a fallu prendre 3 autobus différentes pour se rendre à notre vol pour Tallinn.

First Impressions of Tallinn

Arriving in Tallinn felt surreal. The cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and charming atmosphere were like stepping back in time. The Old Town is absolutely stunning!

We’re settling into our new apartment in the business district. It’s cozy and comfortable, and we’re already feeling kind of like home. Exploring the neighborhood has been a joy, discovering local cafes, parks, and shops.

Tallinn has so much to offer. From the historic Old Town to the Creative city, we’re constantly finding new and exciting things to do.

Premières impressions de Tallinn

Arriver a Tallinn semblait irréel. Les rues pavées de pierres, l’architecture médiévale et l’atmosphere pleine de charme donnaient l’impression de remonter dans le temps. La vielle ville est absolument magnifique!

Nous nous installions dans notre nouvel appartement temporaire, situe dans le quartier des affaires. Il est chaleureux et confortable, et nous nous y sentons déjà presque chez nous. Explorer le quartier est un vrai plaisir: nous découvrons des cafes locaux, des parcs et des boutiques.

Tallinn a tellement a offrir. De la vielle ville a la ville creative, on découvre constamment des choses nouvelles et excitantes a visiter et a faire.

Reflections and Next Steps

Moving to a new country is a huge undertaking, but we’re so excited about the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead. We’re looking forward to learning about Estonian culture and exploring all that Europe has to offer. We will continue to keep you updated on our adventures.
